About This Project
Demystifying the Transgender Journey is a groundbreaking initiative designed to educate, enlighten, and foster understanding about the transgender experience. Launched in early 2024, this project was born from a powerful partnership between Lynn Murphy, a cisgender woman, and Wendy Cole, a transgender woman. We recognize the urgent need to combat misinformation and disinformation, especially considering the current political climate that has made life more challenging for the transgender community.
Our Vision and Impact
Our goal is to demystify and humanize the transgender experience through education and real-life stories. We achieve this through:
- Compelling storytelling via podcasts, YouTube videos, books, articles, and blogs. We share the experiences of a wide variety of transgender individuals and allies.
- A safe and supportive Facebook community for open dialogue where transgender and cisgender individuals can openly and honestly share experiences, comments, questions, and discussions.
- Partnerships with organizations dedicated to supporting the transgender community

About Lynn Murphy
Lynn W. Murphy, M.Ed., is a cisgender woman, an Amazon #1 bestselling author, podcast host, and founder of Women Who Push the Limits®—a movement that strives to recognize, celebrate, and share the stories of women who are making positive differences in the world.
Though she never aspired to be a writer, she has always been a teacher. Her experience interviewing 50 amazing women from diverse backgrounds and experiences for her bestselling book Women Who Push the Limits Presents 50 Life Lessons from Inspiring Women gave her deep connections with women she would not otherwise have met. Lynn knows that sharing the amazing stories of others’ lives and challenges feeds her lifelong desire to teach.
For her current project, Demystifying the Transgender Journey, Lynn is interviewing people who were born transgender, family members, friends, coworkers, healthcare professionals, and allies who support the community. These interviews are the source of podcast episodes and YouTube videos and will eventually be content for a book.
She started her consulting, coaching, and soft-skills training business, Key Innovative Business Solutions, over 20 years ago and continues to work with clients in large and small businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations though she now devotes the majority of her time to this project.

About Wendy Cole
Wendy Cole is a transition mentor and coach specializing in assisting individuals as they navigate significant life changes. She draws upon her own experience of transitioning at the age of 67. Her professional mission is to humanize the experience of being born transgender and provide support to both those undergoing transition and their families. Wendy asserts that transitioning has had a transformative impact on her life, improving her physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
In addition to coaching, Wendy offers consulting services for businesses and organizations on transgender-related issues and is available to speak on the topics. To date, she has shared her insights on approximately forty different podcasts. She is currently engaged in writing two books: one chronicling her life and the lessons she has learned from her transgender experience, and another guiding parents of transgender children. Her articles have been published by PFLAG and on LinkedIn, further contributing to her expertise in the field.

How Lynn and Wendy came together
The Universe brought them together when Wendy joined a Zoom mastermind group to which Lynn belonged. When Wendy introduced herself at her first meeting, Lynn immediately knew she had to find out more about Wendy’s compelling journey. Wendy agreed to an interview to help others understand the transgender experience. After many hours of recorded conversations, the relationship developed into this unique collaboration for their podcast and Facebook group. Lynn and Wendy co-host a podcast and administer the Facebook group that encourages and facilitates conversations between cisgender and transgender individuals.
